It is sometimes more comforting to think about what God CANNOT do than what He is capable of doing.
- He cannot act inconsistently to His character,
- He cannot lie,
- He cannot break His own covenant,
- He cannot change because His perfect character is immutable and needs no change!
- He cannot and will not break His own laws
- He cannot make exceptions for anybody.
- He cannot overlook the sins committed by the wicked
Even His Glorious Grace, unmerited favor to sinners - is balanced by perfect justice - as our sins are indeed punished in full - but it was Christ who bore the punishment for every sin that is forgiven. Justice and Grace met at the cross.
If there is injustice with Him it is only this one act in all history - that an innocent Man was punished so brutally for sins He did not commit - yet How Great and Amazing is His Love that He freely chose to die for us!
